Responding to a damning report by the Public Accounts Committee into the Conservative management of the Railway network, Liberal Democrat MP and member of PAC Layla Moran said:
"This report shows what we all already know: the Tories presided over a disaster with our railways last year and the fallout for passengers is continuing. Hundreds of trains were cancelled or delayed.
"Instead of allowing the DfT to continue their mismanagement of the railways, Liberal Democrats agree with the Public Accounts Committee that change is needed.
"We would put passengers at the heart of our railways by reforming fares so people get a better deal, create a Railway Agency to manage the day-to-day running of the railways and strip companies of their franchises if they’re failing passengers.”
