Commenting on the vote on whether the Government should release all documents on their proposed customs plans, Liberal Democrat MP and member of the Brexit Committee Wera Hobhouse said:
“It is time the Conservative Government is honest with Parliament and with the public. The EU has already made it clear that neither the customs partnership nor the maximum facilitation proposals are workable and are pure fantasy. Theresa May’s custom’s partnership is still de facto a hard border: contrary to what she promised in December. The maximum facilitation proposals are based on technology that doesn’t even exit.
"Parliament and the public must see the evidence in order to judge whether Government plans are coherent.
"Theresa May and her Government should no longer have anywhere to hide. Once Theresa May comes back with a deal the people should have a final say.”
