Responding to allegations that the Prime Minister could use parliamentary procedure to avoid a People’s Vote on the Brexit deal, Liberal Democrat Brexit Spokesperson Tom Brake said:

"These allegations show that the PM has got the knack of alienating both MPs on the benches behind her and in front with her Brexit plans.

"The suggestion that the government could use parliamentary procedure to avoid a meaningful vote wraps this shambolic Tory Brexit in chicanery and must not be allowed to happen.

"Ultimately Theresa May would only consider this desperate attempt to tie MPs hands behind their backs because she recognises the growing movement for a People’s Vote on the final deal."
