Richmondshire  District Council has asked the Local Government Boundary Commission for England to review the number of Councillors in the District.

They want to reduce the number of Councillors from 34 to 24 – despite the LGBCE saying that to reduce the number of Councillors to under 30 would automatically be a cause for concern.

The Tories did this in Hambleton and they ended up with 28 Councillors (27 Tory and 1 UKIP). Prior to the reorganisation there were 5 Councillors from other parties. Is the plan for absolute power?

This isn’t democracy.
