Remember the £350M a week that Vote Leave promised the NHS? Well Simon Stevens, Head of NHS England, wants the money they promised.

Simon Stevens says that they need £4B next year. However, the NHS England budget for 2018/9 is set to increase by a total of £500M – less than 2 weeks worth of Boris’s promise.

So, in a speech today at the NHS Providers Conference, he will warn that the trust in politics will be damaged if the NHS doesn’t get the promised cash. The problem is, of course, that there won’t be any cash – but Boris and the others will weasel out of it somehow.

And, with people like Boris around, trust in politics is at an all time low anyway.
