In the first opinion poll since the Euro Elections is shows the Liberal Democrats on top of the poll at 24%.
The Brexit Party is second on a worryingly high 22%. I’m fairly confident they will implode as the reality of what Nigel Farage stands for sinks in. Their MEPs (including the Danish one from Harrogate) will start pulling in different directions and The Brexit Party Ltd will struggle to keep control.
The trick for the Liberal Democrats is to keep the momentum going and bring our other policies to the fore. We aren’t a one trick pony. Let’s start with the 1p on income tax for the NHS to start – we know the £350M a week isn’t going to happen.
