Responding to the launch of the Creative Industries sector deal, Jane Bonham-Carter, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson on Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, commented:
"Whilst we welcome the government’s announcement of additional investment in the Creative Industries and the recognition of the crucial contribution the sector makes, Brexit still looms and is indeed now biting.
"21% of businesses within the Creative Industries sector have said that, in the event of a ‘no deal’, they would consider moving part or all of their businesses abroad.
"We are already feeling the effects with broadcasters preparing to leave; advertisers reporting a loss of business and games developers finding staff recruitment harder.
"The Liberal Democrats call for the Creative Industries to be at the top table of negotiations, to ensure a good deal for a sector that plays a crucial role in our culture and economy and in promoting the UK around the world."
